She devoted countless hours over a number of years to build a true "Olympic family" for the 1988 Olympic Games held in Calgary. Volunteer Co-Chairperson of the Adopt-A-Parent program, the first of its kind in Olympic history, she organized volunteers, sponsors, hosts and facilities in order to provide transportation and accommodation for the parents or spouses of Olympic athletes.
