A leading Montreal tax lawyer, he has played a primary role in the development of taxation law in Canada since he first drafted the 1948 Canadian Income Tax Act. He is a prolific writer, having written or co-written various tax-related texts, some of which have been used by government agencies around the world. Despite his professional commitments, he is active in the educational community, having recently created a Chair for fiscal studies at McGill University.
