For decades, this former nuclear scientist has worked tirelessly for peace and disarmament. The founder and director of the former Canadian Peace Research Institute, Norman Alcock is a role model of commitment and altruism. His institute put Canada on the world stage for its innovative scientific approach to the study of peace and its applications. Through his writings and his many contributions to the Pugwash movement and to the World Federalists of Canada, he has helped us to better understand the complexities of war and peace.
