A widely acclaimed oboist, he is one of our country's foremost interpreters of contemporary music. He is a staunch promoter of Canadian composers and has frequently commissioned their work and premiered their pieces in his international appearances. Equally known as an outstanding musical events organizer, he engages and educates youth and adults alike with his innovative concert series. The first recipient of the Chalmers National Music Award, he is a creative force working to enhance our cultural awareness.
