Even before being called to the Bar, and in spite of all obstacles in her way, she founded the People's Law School in Vancouver. This novel undertaking, which became a model for similar schools across Canada, offers free lectures on the law, enabling thousands to overcome the legal obstacle that ignorance is no defence.
