She served for many years as nurse, administrator, and teacher in hospitals and schools of nursing. Since 1961, she has taught at the University of British Columbia, where she is Associate Professor Emeritus of Nursing. She has occupied executive posts in the registered nurses' associations of several provinces and has published a book on pioneering nursing in western Canada.
