A child of the Depression suffering the lifelong effects of an illness contracted as a result of wartime injuries, this Victoria resident has spent thirty years caring for the needy and the victims of fire in the remote interior of B.C. Each year, the "Good Samaritan of the North" has collected, sorted and packed up to 6,000 lbs. of donated used clothing and household items. He then uses his yearly vacation to transport load after load to where forest rangers can reach those most in need of help.
