With extraordinary determination, Simon Brault has long been deeply committed to promoting culture across Canada. This advocate for the arts seeks every opportunity to address his favourite theme in local, national and international forums. Vice-Chair of the Canada Council for the Arts and Director General of the National Theatre School, he is well known for his expertise in cultural policy. He was the driving force behind the project to restore the Monument-National in Montreal and spearheaded the creation of the Journées de la culture, which continue to grow with each passing year. He is also a founding member and Chairman of Culture Montréal, which champions the key role played by the arts and culture in defining and developing the City of Montreal.
