One of the greatest Canadian women golfers, Sandra Post-McDermid has distinguished herself in international tournaments, and as an ambassador and role model for the sport. Canada's first player on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour, she won several major tournaments during her professional career. Named Canada's Athlete of the Year for 1979, she was later inducted into the Canadian and Ontario golf halls of fame. Beyond her notable sporting accomplishments, she has been an active supporter and fundraiser for many community and charitable causes.
