Marilyn McHarg is dedicated to improving the health of vulnerable people. She was a co-founder and former general director of Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Canada, and her extensive field experience and first-hand knowledge of medical humanitarian operations has bolstered the MSF movement worldwide. She was a former president and CEO of Dignitas International, which supported global health for marginalized people and underserved communities. A former instructor of global health at McMaster University, she has also provided guidance to the public sector on issues of governance and organizational structure.
