For his contributions to the regulation of Canada’s financial institutions and for his role in establishing the Toronto Leadership Centre.

John Palmer has helped establish strong regulation and transparency in Canada’s financial industry. Following a successful career in the private sector, he served as the superintendent of the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions
where he led reforms that increased oversight, reduced risk and helped build public confidence in Canada’s financial system. Today, as chair and a founding director of the Toronto International Leadership Centre for Financial Sector Supervision,
an organization committed to financial stability and economic development, he continues to promote sound regulation, notably in emerging economies.
