From March to October 2021, Chief Warrant Officer Crawford was deployed to Yavoriv as the task force sergeant major for the Canadian Armed Forces’ capacity building mission in Ukraine. His steadfast leadership and professionalism allowed the task force to successfully navigate simultaneous crises including a significant COVID-19 outbreak and the build-up of Russian forces on the Ukrainian border. His exceptional work empowered the non-commissioned officer corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and brought great credit to Canada.
