With exemplary leadership and professionalism, Major Arseneault commanded the Intermediate Staging Terminal in Burkina Faso from May to July 2018. He confidently secured diplomatic clearance for entry into Burkina Faso to facilitate the deployment of helicopters to provide a medical evacuation capability in Mali. In doing so, he skilfully overcame the major challenges presented by the complex environment and unstable diplomatic and political climate in that country. His tireless efforts and great planning ability in establishing an operational centre to support United Nations operations reflected positively on Canada.
