Lina Cyr founded the Maison des greffés du Québec, a home-care centre unlike any other in Canada. Since it opened in Montreal in 1993, the Maison has cared for over 3,000 transplant patients, recovering organ recipients, and their supporters. Mrs. Cyr’s centre is also closely linked to the foundation that bears her name, which she created to assure the financial survival of the centre and raise funds to help recovering transplant patients and those still waiting for transplants. She is a model of compassion and dedication and continues to promote the importance of organ donation, from which she herself has benefited.
