In 2018, Philippe Degroote and Jean-Marie Dez spearheaded several projects to honour the sacrifice of Canadian soldiers as part of the commemorations of the Hundred Days Offensive. Thanks to their efforts, local residents and Canadians visiting the area had the opportunity to visit authentic places for contemplation, including Canada’s Highway of Heroes, the plaque honouring Claude Nunney and the Rond-point des Sept Victoria Cross, erected to commemorate the Canadian Corps’ victories.
