On July 9, 2016, Calvin Stein saved a three-year-old girl from being trampled by a team of charging horses that had broken away from their handlers at a fair in Tweed, Ontario. Mr. Stein sprinted for the child who was directly in their path and tossed her out of harm’s way, seconds before the horses ran into him. He sustained severe injuries as the horses dragged him several feet before finally coming to a stop.
