On March 16, 2011, Craig Sibley and Connor Klein rescued a man from a possible drowning, in Daytona Beach, Florida. Mr. Sibley was returning to shore to escape the pull of the strong undertow when he heard someone cry out for help. Mr. Sibley swam to the panicked victim and pulled him to the surface. He then began the difficult task of getting them both out of the powerful riptide. Exhausted, he called for help from Mr. Klein, who was just entering the water. Despite the risk of swimming into the riptide, Mr. Klein made his way to the pair and helped tow the victim to shore.
