Medal of Bravery
On 30 June 1977, David Bradt, Stephen Dainard and Thomas Tierney rescued two occupants of a burning car after an accident near Lindsay. Three people had been trapped in the car, and while Mr. Tierney tried to put out the fire Mr. Bradt and Mr. Dainard attempted first to remove the driver's wife. She was in the front seat but the door could not be opened. They then turned to the driver's brother who was unconscious in the back seat and managed to free him. At this point Mr. Bradt left to call the firemen, while the others with great difficulty extricated the driver. By then fire had spread through the car, and nothing could be done to save the woman.
