Medal of Bravery
- Awarded on: August 28, 1989
- Invested on: December 11, 1989
Early in the morning of January 2, 1988, in Saint-Théophile de Beauce, the courage of volunteer firefighter Jean-Marc Couture made it possible to save the life of a man trapped in a burning house. When he learned that a person was in the building, Mr. Couture put on his respiratory equipment and went into the smoke-filled house. In spite of the heat and smoke, he searched several rooms in the house, found the victim lying motionless on the floor and carried him to a window where other volunteer firefighters helped to take him outside.
