On April 6, 1991, in Sept-Iles, Quebec, Off. Desrosiers of the Sept-Iles municipal police force pulled a young girl from a car on which a high tension wire had fallen. Seeing the mother trying to get her child out of the vehicle, he begged her to move back for fear that she would be electrocuted. Nonetheless, she persisted in her efforts and was thrown to the ground by an electrical discharge. Off. Desrosiers lifted her up and carried her to a safe place. Taking care to use a dry coat, he took hold of the young girl whose clothing had been dampened by the snow. He lost his balance and suffered an electric shock, but still managed to pull the victim from the danger.
