Blazon

Argent on a chevron between in chief two pheons Sable and in base a rose Gules barbed and seeded Vert, a crescent Or, all within a bordure wavy Gules;

Symbolism

The black chevron and arrowheads on a white background are commonly used by persons bearing the surname Smart in Scotland. The rose is common to arms of Scottish families named Napier, Lennox and Montrose, from whom Mr. Smart is descended. The crescent and border are marks of differencing.
