Blazon

Gules on a Canadian pale Argent a maple leaf charged with an annulus Gules edged, charged in base with a thistle, inscribed THE NOVA SCOTIA HIGHLANDERS in letters Or, and ensigned with the Royal Crown proper;

Symbolism

As an infantry regiment, The Nova Scotia Highlanders uses as its Queen’s Colour the National Flag of Canada with the addition of an annulus bearing its name and the Royal Crown. The thistle refers to the Scottish heritage of the regiment.
