Per fess wavy Or and Azure a bar wavy issuant therefrom two demi-otters, in base a garb all counterchanged;

Symbolism

The otters issuing from the wavy stripe are inspired by the arms of other Meldrum families in Scotland. For Mr. Meldrum, they also represent the many swimmers whom he has coached in several clubs. The blue and gold colours allude to Ukraine, the ancestral country of Mr. Meldrum’s mother. The wheat symbolizes the farming occupation of his mother’s ancestors.

Symbolism

The otter repeats the symbolism of the arms. The white lilies allude to those in the arms of the City of Dundee, Scotland, where several generations of Mr. Meldrum’s ancestors lived before coming to Canada.
