A torteau edged and semé of escutcheons and triangles Or all within a wreath of maple leaves proper and ensigned by a crown palisado Or;

Symbolism

The shields represent protection, and the triangles, hazards. The maple leaves indicate that the award is national in scope. The coronet in the form of a palisade is another reference to protection.
