Argent a pall and an orle wavy Gules, overall a torteau;

Symbolism

The predominant colour of the shield is emblematic of Mr. White’s name. Symbolizing purity, it also represents his service and kindness for others. The three branches of the Y shape allude to Mr. White’s wife and their two daughters. The disc in the centre refers to him and the central place of volunteerism in his life, while the branches allude to its positive effects spreading to all parts of society – represented by the border – and beyond.

A gyrfalcon close proper holding in its dexter claw a banyan tree Argent set with three maple leaves Gules;

Symbolism

The gyrfalcon, known for its vigilance and acuity of sight, represents leadership and thus Mr. White’s position as chancellor of the Priory of Canada of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem. The banyan symbolizes constant growth and renewal, two qualities Mr. White has maintained throughout his life. The maple leaves growing on it are a reference to his Canadian heritage.
