The star is taken from the coat of arms of the Cayman Islands, where the Lockyers were married. The two bezants represent commerce and Stephen and Donna Lockyer’s two sons, Henry and Spencer. |
CrestBlazonIssuant from a coronet of maples leaves Or and poppy flowers Gules a yacht Azure sails Argent the jib charged with a saltire Azure; SymbolismThe maple leaves represent service to Canada and the poppies the military service of the fathers of both Mr. and Mrs. Lockyer. The yacht celebrates Mr. Lockyer’s love of yachting and, more specifically, his former service as Vice-Commander of the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron. The blue saltire cross on the mainsail represents Nova Scotia, heritage and public service. |
