Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Whit Fraser visited various groups and organizations in Québec and Lévis on September 24 and 25, 2024.
This visit gave the Governor General a better understanding of the difficulties facing the communities of Lévis and Québec.
Celebrating excellence across Canada is an integral part of the Governor General’s role. The Governor General highlighted the essential work of people who, as volunteers or in their professional lives, are working to improve the quality of life in their communities.

The Governor General met with the team from Le Tremplin. Founded on the values of solidarity, mutual aid, respect for differences and respect for dignity, this non-profit organization provides essential reception and community integration services to immigrants and their families in Lévis.
The Governor General also visited Comptoir Le Grenier, where she toured the grocery store and learned more about the services offered to improve the quality of life for those experiencing food insecurity.

The Governor General met with Her Honour the Honourable Manon Jeannotte, Lieutenant Governor of Quebec.
