Rededication of the National Naval Reserve Monument

October 14, 2023

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, spoke at the rededication ceremony of the National Naval Reserve Monument, at HMCS Carleton in Ottawa.

The National Naval Reserve Monument was first dedicated by Governor General Roland Michener in 1973, to mark the Naval Reserve’s 50th anniversary. This year, the monument was revitalized to celebrate the Canadian Naval Reserve’s 100th anniversary. As commander-in-chief, Her Excellency rededicated the monument during the ceremony.
