At the request of the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Whit Fraser undertook working visits to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar and Kuwait, from March 17 to 23, 2022. The visit included stops in Dubai, Sharjah, Doha and Kuwait City.

Their Excellencies arrived in Kuwait for the final leg of their visit to the Middle East.
The Governor General visited Sadu House, a museum and cultural centre devoted to preserving Kuwaiti textile heritage and to encouraging innovation within the art form for future generations.
She took part in a round-table discussion with eight women, including Canada’s Ambassador to Kuwait. During this discussion entitled “Preservation, Education, Innovation,” participants shared their journey, touched on challenges they have faced, and talked about their hopes for the future of Kuwait.
