Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Whit Fraser visited Prince Edward Island’s North Shore to observe first-hand the damage and devastation caused by Hurricane Fiona.
During this visit, Their Excellencies met with residents, business owners, fishers and tourism operators to hear how Hurricane Fiona has affected their lives and livelihoods. In addition, Their Excellencies had an opportunity to thank first responders and volunteers who have stepped up to the challenges of the last month to support their communities.

“We were heartbroken to see the damage still evident across the province: the loss of home and business. Wreckage of nature and the most basic infrastructure. Harm to fishers, to crops and to the tourist industry.”
