It was with great sadness that Whit and I learned of the passing of curling champion and esteemed journalist Colleen Jones.

A talented skip on the sheet and an equally dedicated coach, Ms. Jones led Canada’s curling teams to victory on multiple occasions. As a CBC reporter and host, she became a familiar on-air presence, sharing the stories of Canadians and covering national and international sports events, including the Olympic Games.

Ms. Jones set a remarkable example for us to follow. It was an honour for me to invest her into the Order of Canada last December, in recognition of her many accomplishments and contributions to our country.

On behalf of all Canadians, we offer our condolences to her entire family.
