Their Excellencies took part in the ribbon cutting ceremony, along with local dignitaries and partners.

Karl St-Pierre spoke on behalf of all the recipients.

Mylène Tapin-Cyr was also among the youth that were recognized. The Award’s three levels—Bronze, Silver and Gold—encourage youth between the ages of 14 and 24 to pursue activities in four areas: community service, physical fitness, skills development and outdoor exploration.

Thomas Morin-Cabana was among the recipients. The Duke of Edinburgh's Award recognizes the recipients’ dedication and personal accomplishments within their communities.

The Governor General recognized the achievements of 26 young people from various parts of the province of Quebec who have completed the Gold level by presenting them with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award during a ceremony in Québec, Quebec.

The Governor General enjoyed the beautiful fall weather.

The section of the new Louise-Gasnier Trail connects to the Trans Canada Trail and the Charlevoix networks.

As patrons of the Trans Canada Trail, Their Excellencies took part in the inauguration of a section of the new Louise-Gasnier Trail in Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, Quebec.

Accompanied by partners and volunteers, Their Excellencies followed the trail on foot for a few kilometres through the forest.

The evening's music was provided by La Musique du Royal 22e Régiment.
