His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, presented the 2016 Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC) Vanier Medal to Mr. James (Jim) R. Eldridge, past Clerk of the Executive Council and Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Relations for the Government of Manitoba.

The Vanier Medal, managed by IPAC, is one of the highest forms of recognition for Canadian public administrators. It was created in 1962, in honour of then-Governor General the Right Honourable Georges P. Vanier.
