Letters of credence are the official documents by which new heads of diplomatic missions are presented by their head of State as their official representative. Currently, there are more than 170 heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Canada.

The Governor General received the letters of credence from four new heads of mission, during a ceremony at his residence at the Citadelle of Québec.

He first received the letters of credence of His Excellency Henk van der Zwan, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The Governor General then received the letters of credence of His Excellency Vesa Ilmari Lehtonen, ambassador of the Republic of Finland.

The Governor General also received the letters of credence of His Excellency Mahamadou Diarra, Ambassador of the Republic of Mali.

Finally, the Governor General received the letters of credence of His Excellency Lulzim Hiseni, Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo.
