Rideau Hall Movie Nights

The Governor General invited the public to watch great Canadian films under the stars at the third annual Rideau Hall Movie Nights.

"I’d also like to express my gratitude to all the partners who helped make this event happen. Your commitment to Canadian art is an inspiration. I hope all of you have a wonderful time and go home with a better sense of what being Canadian means to you."

This year, an episode of Canadian show “Schitt’s Creek” was shown before Being Canadian.

Rideau Hall Movie Nights features English- and French-Canadian films, screened on alternate nights, on the grounds of Rideau Hall. Members of the public are invited to bring their blankets, settle in with some free popcorn and watch these films under the stars.

The producers of “Schitt’s Creek” and actress Annie Murphy participated in an on-stage conversation about the show.

Afterwards, Robert Cohen, the director of Being Canadian talked about the making of this humorous documentary.
