Order of Military Merit Investiture Ceremony

His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, will preside over an Order of Military Merit investiture ceremony at Rideau Hall. Created in 1972, the Order recognizes meritorious service and devotion to duty by members of the Canadian Armed Forces.

General Jonathan Vance, Chief of the Defence Staff, also spoke during the ceremony.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Member level (M.M.M.) to Ranger Martin Scott, M.M.M., C.D., Aupaluk Canadian Ranger Patrol, Aupaluk, Quebec.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Member level (M.M.M.) to Sergeant Jeremy Pinchin, M.M.M., S.M.V., C.D., 3rd Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment, Petawawa, Ontario.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Member level (M.M.M.) to Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class David Kenneth McAlpine, M.M.M., C.D., Canadian Forces Fleet School Esquimalt, Victoria, British Columbia.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Member level (M.M.M.) to Warrant Officer Jonathan Douglas Hawtin, M.M.M., C.D., 1st Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, Shilo, Manitoba.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Member level (M.M.M.) to Warrant Officer Tracy Leigh Shyan Graham, M.M.M., C.D., 19 Air Maintenance Squadron, Lazo, British Columbia.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Officer level (O.M.M.) to Captain(N) Jeffery Blair Zwick, O.M.M., C.D., Office of Chief of Programme, Ottawa, Ontario.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Officer level (O.M.M.) to Captain(N) Marta Beattie Mulkins, O.M.M., C.D., Naval Reserve Headquarters, Québec, Quebec.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Officer level (O.M.M.) to Lieutenant-Colonel Carla Marie Harding, O.M.M., C.D., 2 Service Battalion, Petawawa, Ontario.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Commander level (C.M.M.) to Rear-Admiral William Shawn Truelove, C.M.M., C.D., Canadian Defence Liaison Staff (Washington) Washington, D.C., United States of America. This is a promotion within the Order.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Commander level (C.M.M.) to Major-General Christian Juneau, C.M.M., M.S.M., C.D., Office of the Chief of the Army Staff Ottawa, Ontario. This is a promotion within the Order.

"I’m so proud to serve as your commander-in-chief and to recognize your remarkable efforts today," said the Governor General. "I feel particularly privileged to do so on the eve of Remembrance Day, when we pause to think of all who have sacrificed for our country, past and present. Wherever you serve and in whatever capacity, you do so in an exemplary manner."

His Excellency bestowed the honour on 2 Commanders, 8 Officers and 36 Members.
