Citadelle of Québec - Day 1

The Governor General and the Mayor of Québec presented the trophy to the captain from the runner-up team.

Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston attended the AA-Elites Division championship game at the Pee-Wee Québec International Hockey Tournament on February 21, 2016. Before the game, Their Excellencies wished good luck to the Lac Saint-Louis Lions in their dressing room.

Their Execellencies were joined by His Worship Régis Labeaume, Mayor of Québec, and his spouse, Mrs. Louise Vien.

The game was held at the Videotron Centre in Québec.

Founded in 1960, the Pee-Wee Québec International Hockey Tournament continues to give thousands of youths aged 11 and 12 an unforgettable experience and lifelong memories as they represent their teams.

Some of the big names in hockey, including Brad Park, Guy Lafleur, the Gretzky and Howe brothers, Mario Lemieux, Patrick Roy and Steven Stamkos have taken part in this tournament.

The Lac Saint-Louis Lions won the championship game 5 to 1 against the Gaulois of Antoine-Girouard.

After the game, the Governor General and the Mayor of Québec presented a replica of the trophy to the captain of the Gaulois Antoine-Girouard team.
