He then proceeded to the artisan pavilion, where he participated in an ancient art demonstration.

His Excellency and Ms. Tabobodanubg watched a musical performance by an Aboriginal artist.

There were over 3 700 students and teachers from the National Capital Region in attendance at the Education Day Event, organized by the National Aboriginal Day Committee of Ottawa.

His Excellency spoke with students in attendance.

The Governor General joined students in a shared dance of friendship.

While he was at the artisan pavilion, His Excellency created his own stencil art.

He first visited the Native Women’s Association of Canada pavilion to learn more about the organization and created a doll.

The Governor General participated in some of the workshops with students and teachers.

The Governor General spoke with Ms. Christina Moore, an Aboriginal artist.

In celebration of National Aboriginal Day, His Excellency attended the Summer Solstice Aboriginal Arts Festival’s Education day, on June 21, 2013. Upon his arrival, His Excellency was greeted by Ms. Vera Tabobodanubg, President of the Native Women's Association of Canada.

His Excellency delivered brief remarks where he highlighted the importance of the Aboriginal peoples and their culture.

The Governor General proudly displayed his creation of art.
