On the eve of his departure for a visit to Mexico, the Governor General met with Mr. Enrique Peña Nieto, President-elect of the United Mexican States.

During his visit to the United Mexican States, from November 30 to December 2, the Governor General will represent Canada on the occasion of the inauguration of the new President.

The Governor General will also meet with government officials, business leaders, academics, NGOs, and volunteers from Mexico City and Querétaro to promote Canada’s engagement in the Americas and our interests in Mexico in order to further co-operation in areas such as innovation, technology, education and local development.
