After His Excellency's remarks, a discussion took place on the accomplishments and challenges of Francophones living in the North.

The Governor General and his wife met with the francophone community by going to the Centre de la francophonie. They were welcomed by Mr. Régis St-Pierre, executive director of l'Association franco-yukonnaise (AFY), and toured the facilities. The AFY represents the 3550 francophones living in Yukon.
