Their Excellencies visited the Labrador Interpretation Centre located in North West River. The centre makes the visitors discover a land that's as old as time with a human history that goes back over 9,000 years. During their tour, visitors can listen to Labradorians recount this ancient story in their own words and voices - Innu, Inuit and Settler people, each with an intriguing tales to tell.

Their Excellencies met with artist Shirley Moorhouse who's artwork is exhibited at the centre. Ms. Moorhouse has a Diploma in Heritage Crafts from the College of the North Atlantic and a BA in Canadian and Aboriginal Studies from Carleton University. Over the past 15 years, her work has been exhibited in solo shows in New York State and Nova Scotia. She has also participated in some 30 group shows across Canada, and in the USA and Germany. Most recently, her work was presented as part of the Aboriginal Art Exhibition for the Vancouver Olympics.
