VISIT TO CANADA'S NORTH - Meeting with Elders from the Resolute Bay community
Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and her husband Jean-Daniel Lafond, had tea with Elders from the Resolute Bay community. The meeting was held at the Qarmartalik School.

Their Excellencies discussed with Elders the 1930’s displacement of families to ensure Arctic sovereignty. A throat singing performance was also demonstrated during their meeting.
