Presentation of Credentials at Rideau Hall

The Governor General received the credentials of His Excellency Osamah Bin Ahmad Al Sanosi Ahmad, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Governor General received the credentials of His Excellency Richard Benjamin Turkson, High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana.

The Governor General received the credentials of His Excellency Tundevdorj Zalaa-Uul, Ambassador of Mongolia.

The Governor General received the credentials of His Excellency Batu Kutelia, Ambassador of the Republic of Georgia.

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, received the credentials of three new ambassadors and one new high commissioner.

Upon their arrival in Canada as new representatives of their country, and before they can assume office, ambassadors and high commissioners must be formally received by the governor general of Canada. The formal documents by which new heads of diplomatic missions are introduced are called “letters of credence” and “letters of commission”.

The Ambassador of Mongolia, His Excellency Tundevdorj Zalaa-Uul, was accompanied by his wife, children and grand-child.
