Governor General's Official Visit to Saskatchewan

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, met with RCMP cadets and officers during her visit to the RCMP Academy in Regina on May 10, 2006. The Governor General toured the RCMP Buffalo Scenario Village, addressed cadets, visited the historic chapel and laid flowers at the Cenotaph to honour fallen members. The Governor General conducted her first regional visit to Saskatchewan from May 8 to 10, 2006. During their hour-long meeting, the women chiefs and elders talked with the Governor General about the challenges that they face in their communities and discussed solutions.
