2005 Awards for Excellence in Teaching Canadian History

Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Jean Daniel Lafond during the ceremony for the Governor General’s Awards for Excellence in Teaching Canadian History, at Rideau Hall, on November 29, 2005.

The Governor General’s Awards for Excellence in Teaching Canadian History were established in 1996 by Canada’s National History Society. Each year, the awards recognize teachers who have inspired and challenged students about Canadian history, be it through social studies, economics, political studies, contemporary studies or geography.
