An inspirational role model for many young people, Clarence Brazier was illiterate for most of his life, but overcame his impediment at the age of 93, after his wife, who read everything to him, passed away. His story, an example of dedication and determination, caught the attention of hundreds of school children, inspiring them to stay in school and to get an education. At 102 years of age, Mr. Brazier continues to display courage and conviction as he shares his struggles to overcome illiteracy and to raise awareness of the importance of education among students and adults throughout the province.
