Well-known for his greeting "It's a great day", businessman Harry MacLauchlan has positively influenced his Island community over the years through his volunteer activities. He has helped to establish a new community centre, generously donated land and a building for a seniors' housing unit, and raised funds for institutions such as the University of Prince Edward Island and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He also finds the time to be an active member of his church and the Rotary Club, and to support local historical committees and sporting activities.
