Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
For over 20 years, Carolyn Thomas, of East Preston, Nova Scotia, has been dedicated to making Canada a country where justice and equality for all prevails. Among her many commitments, Dr. Thomas is the chairperson of the Nova Scotia Advisory Committee on Race Relations, governor of the Canadian Race Relations Foundation, and governor of the Canadian Centre on Police-Race Relations. She is also past regional vice-president of the Nova Scotia Red Cross Division, and past president of the East Preston Ladies Auxiliary. She has also been very active within the African United Baptist Association. In the advancement of these and many other causes, Dr. Thomas has always exhibited enthusiasm, resolve, courage and integrity.
