As a volunteer with the Royal Canadian Legion since the 1970s, Gerald Tucker has been involved in multiple committees and most recently served as president of the branch in Truro, where he helped bring the organization out of debt. He has also volunteered with the Royal Canadian Air Force Association and with Special Olympics Nova Scotia.
