Friedrich Bayer became a member of the board of directors of the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award in 2007, and has volunteered as division treasurer and member of the executive committee. He has been instrumental in helping youth succeed in the program and in the community through his own organization, the Youth Engagement Strategy Network.
